Want to find out more about us? Our online e-record system, Tapestry, allows us to log your child's progress and development through the use of an online journal. We will record all of the special moments of your child's time at nursery with photographs and observations and allows you
to have full access to your child's file at all times so you can watch your child progress and grow. You will be able to view and comment on any of these key moments and memories. Of course there are also paper records being kept alongside our online
journals that can be built into a treasured memory to progress with them further.
Automatic emails are generated when new special moments and developments are added so that you can take a look. We even have mobile apps that allow entries to be made from iPhones, iPads and Android devices. We can convert your child's file to a PDF document
and give it to parents on a CD or via hard copy whichever they prefer.
Keyworkers Every child is allocated an individual keyworker who is responsible for keeping up to date with their progress and to maintain their development file. This consists of keeping daily records and conducting pre-school assessments. We are proud of our relationships
with parents and will always work closely with you as your values and views are very important to us.
Security The main nursery door always remains locked at all times during opening hours and will only ever be opened when identification is produced. The gardens are also locked and fenced so that your children remain safe and protected throughout their play. We
can only allow someone else to pick up your child after receiving confirmation of this by the parents via letter or telephone. However, if we have any doubts about the identity or authorisation of the guest wishing to collect your child, we do reserve
the right to keep them in the nursery until we receive full confirmation from you. This is for the security of safety of your child, as well as for the other children.
Trips and Outings
We like to take the children on as many outings as we can, that are usually linked to the time of year or theme that the nursery is currently working with. We provide parents with a permission slip to inform you of the intended trip and attain your permission
to take them out of the nursery. If we ever need to hire a bus, then it will only ever be driven by a fully qualified driver and fitted with seatbelts for your child's safety and security. Parents will need to make a contribution to any travel costs
or entry fees.
Admissions We encourage all parents to organise a visit to the nursery prior to your child starting nursery with us, and we offer a pre-start service. This usually lasts around two hours and you can ask any questions you may have, and can discuss the needs of your
child so we can plan how to allow them to settle properly. You can also leave your child with us for a short period to allow them to begin to get used to the nursery so they can get used to their new surroundings. Your child can meet their keyworker
and socialise with some of the other children. If you would like to secure your child's place at Peapod Day Nursery, then we do require a refundable deposit of £20.
